New Years Day:- No ashes or dirty water should be thrown out as if was thrown out the luck of the year would go out. No body should cry on this day because if they did, they would cry every day of that year. The youngest boy in the house would go out the come in and wish "A happy new year" and eat a piece of sweet cake. The he would get a tincan and bring in water and every person in the house would drink a cup of it.
First Monday in the New Year:- Every farmer should do three scrapes of ploughing to bring luck on the crops of the year.
