  1. 1839 When the O.A.Pension first came out some O.D.Ps names could not be found in the Baptismal Registry nor in the Government records. So a very safe thing to say was they were born the night of the Big Wind.
There were three supposed to be born that night.
Margaret Malone whose brother is an O.D.P., Knockbrack, dead
    Martin Tuohey, Caherhurley
Martin Fahey, Caherhurley, who died in the work house in one Paris leaving L1000 in the bank.
He was called the "Plucker" because he plucked geese for the women at the moulting season.
His brother John got the money. They had a sister married in America. She came home with John and his money out and I suppose he died.
1882 The first mission held in Bodyke Church by the Augustinian Fathers in June 1882. The closing night was marked by a most terrible fall of rain.
Coolreagh Bog slightly shifted owing to the great rain (people thought it was an earthquake).
A new road had to be made which runs through portion of Bog. Lough O'Grady is just beside the bog and the River Graney flows through it and out again till it enters Lough Derg.
