    The principal lakes are Drewsboro Lough, Lough Derg, Lough Graney, and Lough O'Grady, and the rivers are the River Graney, Bó River and the Lane River.
    There was a battle fought in Scariff in 1315. When Richard de Clare was marching into Leinster he was intercepted in Scariff by the McNamaras and driven back.
