    Badgers live in burrows in ditches. They eat young rabbits and poultry and hedgehogs, weasels and young hares. If you met badgers at night they would attack you. They would catch you by the leg and they would not let go until they would hear the bone cracking.
    Hares eat cabbage, grass, turnips and lettuce. They make nests in ditches called seats. They do damage to the farmers crops; they eat turnips, cabbage and carrots.
