This is regarded as unlucky.Dances are very often held during the holidays and in towns concerts for charitable purposes as the St Vincent De Paul Society. A good number of people receive Holy Communion New Years ‘day though the mass is at the same time.
It is a custom with most people to make good resolutions on this day and they family intend to keep them. - This feast day which is called by the church the feast of the Ephipany is always called little Christmas Day.
It occurs the 12th day after Christmas and marriages never take place till after it. It falls on the 6th January.
