  1. Every person rises early in the morning to go to first mass at eight O Clock which is then quite dark.
    The church is lighted and the Crib is ready all pay a visit to it and adore the Infant Jesus.
    The Communrious are very many that morning. It is a grand custom to see the crowds go up the the Alter rails.
    Many remain for second mass and then the men pay the priest.
    This collection is voluntary and is put on according to valuations of farms.
    The letters, cards and parcels, were of great joy to the young especially now this is stopped by Christmas Day
