  1. There is a wood in the parish of Kilmore called Ballaquin. This would was much bigger long ago than it is now. It was connected with bratloe wood. A giant lived in this wood. One day a tailor roamed away from home, and met the giant. The giant asked him to go to the wood for a faggot. The giant pulled up a big tree and asked the tailor to pull another and bring it, or he would kill him. The tailor said to raise a half a dozed of them on his back. The giant would not do
