  1. Some years ago there was a marriage arranged between a man named Hugh Reilly of Glassdrummond, Cootehill, Co. Cavan and a girl named Mary Ann McGorman. The wedding was arranged for a Wednesday in January for in those days it was considered the luckiest day and the luckiest month for a pair to get married.
    The marriage took place in Knockbride Chapel and the people of the district in general watched for that day, for the old customs at wedding then existed of the race for a bottle of "Whiskey". In this case Pat Gallagher won the prize.
