- About seventy or eighty years ago there was a small thatched school in the townland of Drumbinnis in the place where Frank Carney has his house now. There were only a few dozen scholars in it and each child had to bring a turf with him every day to make a fire. It was a man who taught in it and his name was Master Quaills. He did not take any lodging because he lived in the school.
