    Her friend called for help and Brian heard the cries. He had to run across the hill, and came to the river a few hundred yards below the "Sticks" where she was. He jumped into the river and saved the drowning girl. For this he got a medal from the Humane Society. It was a wonderful act, considering the distance he was from the drowning girl, and the judgement he showed in coming to the right place.
