  1. When I was young, I remember going with my father to an old woman named Gibson for the cure of Red Eyes. This old woman lived at Kill, Cootehill, She burnt white paper under a bowl and rubbed the brownish stuff that was on the inside of the bowl, on the sore eyes and it cured them.
