They were annoying her and she thought of a plan of getting rid of them. She overlooked them until they sank down in the earth. The shape of the mare and foal is still to be seen and the hole is called "Poll a searaigh
- Once there lived two old men at Broomfield and they used to sleep on a bed of straw at night. One of them got sick and the other sent for the priest who was Father Eardley.
