Ar an leathanach seo

  1. We have a churn at home but we do not use it now. It is about three feet tall and the sides are straight. When it was in use we made butter twice weekly. My mother usually did the churning. It takes from 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour to do so.
    People know the butter is made when it is seen floating on the top of the milk. Water is put in the churn before use so as to have it thoroughly clean. The butter is taken off the milk by means of a strainer.
    The churn we have is known as an American Swing churn and is about 60 years old.

  2. 2. We have a churn at home. it is 3 feet 3 ins tall. The bottom of it is 2 ft. 6 3/4 ins. and the top os 2 ft. wide. The dash is 5 ft. 2 ins. long. The sides of the churn are curved. The various parts of the churn are :- the lid, the cup, the dash, and the bottom. The churn is about
