I am loved and well respected by my friends and neighbours all;
In sweet Stradone I am well known, around Laragh and Grousehall.
When I was young I danced and sung and drank good whiskey too,
In each shebeen shop that sold a drop of The Real Old Mountain Dew.
There was a poteen still, on every hill where the Peelers had no call;
