    Like thunder claps of war.

    As I advanced down further
    Through a splendid arch did pass.
    I there beheld some thousands
    On the hill attending mass
    So many heads uncovered
    In that pious holy stain
    For to describe that charming sight
    Is pointless to my brain.

    The hour of one It has come on
    Round Tara's swift recall
    I stood upon the rising ground
    In front of Tara's hall
    When lo! the conquering hero comes
    Fills thousands with surprise
    A burst of acclamation rose
    That rent the roltic skies.

    In front of that grand vehicle
    Dan stood up to apprise
    He viewed the mighty legions leagants
    On the hill with gladdened eyes.
    He stood erect and took his cap.
