    On hearing the clock strike:
    O my God, teach me to love Thee in time and in eternity
    On hearing the cock crow:
    Holy Saint Peter, pray for us.
    On Crossing a bridge:
    Jesus So of David have mercy on us!
    May the grace of The Holy Ghost flow into our hears like a running stream.
    On the Way to Confession:
    When I do enter my confessor's chair
    Holy Jesus enter there,
    Enter there and enter in
    To banish out my filthy Sin.
    On lying down for the night:
    There are four corners on my bed
    There are four angels on them spread
    Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
    God bless the bed that I lie on.
    Jesus have mercy, have mercy on me
    My soul and my body I give unto Thee
    For the Five Deadly Wounds that You suffered for me!
