    Blood puddings:- made from blood of cattle. In bad times people often bled cattle to get food for themselves.
    Blood was left to cool when it would form into jelly. It was then boiled, it thickened and was seasoned with pepper and salt.
    A shedgeog was a drink made of sugar and water with a little saltpetre added. It was used when cold by any member of family who had a cold.
