  1. There is very little if anything written about the parish of Fourmilewater or Kilronan as it formerly was. Yet like most quiet country places, it has its own stories of local interest.
    What is known was passed on from generation to generation.
    In Banfaun in the 17th and 18th centuries the priests of the parish lived, people still living in the neighbourhood remember when the walls of the priests house were levelled down. A short distance from the house by the bank of a stream is a holy well, Tobair an Neamh. Somewhere near this well treasure is
