There is a flower of attractive power

There is a flower of attractive power,
    That in our parish grows,
It is many a one that takes a tour
    To view that lovely Rose.
It never fades through winter's days
    'Tis always found to bloom
That lovely flower on Feddans bower
    Sweet Rose of Aughnabrone.
That lovely flower it needs no Shower
It wants no earth or dew
It is to be found at any hour
    In beauty ever new.
Its tresses hang down both fair and brown
The heart of man to ruin
And those who seek from week to week
    The Rose of Aughnabrone.
Some with their guns and silky dogs
Go a hunting as it were
They search along those gloomy bogs
I know what brings them there.
