  1. Dolls. I can make a doll in three ways - from paper, from straw, and from rags. To make a paper doll I get paper and roll it up and dress it with coloured rags. I make the straw and rag dolls in the same way and dress them in the same way. Then I play with them.
Pump. I make the pump by digging a deep hole in the ground and putting a glass crock full of water down in it. Then I get a strong wire and put it around over the top of the pump for a windlass. I twist the string around the wire and I put an ink bottle on to the end of the string for a bucket. I twist the string off the wire and the bottle goes down into the glass crock. When I twist the string back again the bottle comes up full of water.
Tops. Sometimes I make tops from old spools. I cut some off one end of the spool and put a nail down through the hole of it so that there would be a sharp point on it. I make a whip from a stick and a cord and I hit the top around with the whip.
