    George's Head- from a supposed likeness to profile of one of the George's (Kings). This is a corruption of the Irish Ceann an Fhuirsidh= "the head of the harrowing" for the sea is never calm at its base.

    A place to west of town"Foohagh" variously a "Spectre" and "wet land"
    To south of town "Doonaghboy"-fort of yellow furze or of yellow steed.
    Also Fruir to South
    Duggerna Rocks=An Uaighearnach= the rocks abounding in holes or caves.
    Top'oot= a bathing place in the N of the Kilkee Bay
    Baltard= a village 3 or 4 miles to N of town
