  1. "File" darbh ainm dó Tomás Ó Meadagáin a cónnaigeadh lámh le Cill Ruis 70 mbliana ó shin a chúm an dán seo leanas fé dhuine a mairbh a bean-chéile is a pháiste.
    You young men and maidens
I pray now lend "in air2 (an ear?)
As I am locked in this dismal cell
    The truth I do declare
For the murder of my lawful wife
    Likewise my only child.
Its for the sake of cursed gold
    I took their precious lives
It's a false and wicked woman
That fell in love with me.
All for the sake of twenty pounds
    with her I did agree
    To murder my companion
    with her I did prepare
Its with her blood I own to God.
    When I began this murder
It was dreadful for to hear
    I being filled with liquor
    No danger did I fear
It's with a knife I pierced her heart
As she lay in the bed.
