  1. We have a churn barrel. We call it a churn. There are two handles in it. It was made a year ago. We have six cows. The butter is made twice a week in summer and once in winter. My mother and sister make the churn. If a stranger comes in while it is making it is right for him to make a dreas. The old people say that the people would never make the butter if he did not do so. It takes a half-hour to make the butter. Only the hands are moved while making it. The churn gets heavier and the butter falls between the slappers. The butter is taken out with the skimmer. We make bread of the buttermilk.
