  1. An Gabha agus an Cheárta
There is only one smith in this parish. (There are four - McGrath, Foran, Breen, and Mahony).
His name is Michael McGrath. He works in forge. There is a big double door in the forge and a window in the side of it. The smith always keeps a big fire in the forge when he is at work.
The smith works very hard from morning till night. He does a lot of work in the forge. He repairs all sorts of farm machines. He always uses coal as turf is not suitable for heating the iron. The implements he uses are a hammer, and anvil, and a bellows. A smith is a better trade now than it was long ago.
