  1. Thomas Gallagher was a great mower. He cut an acre of hay every day during the harvest.
    A long time ago there lived a man in Shragh whose name was Patrick Keane. He filled a load of turf in an ass cart and brought it six Irish miles of a road to Kilrush and sold it for fourpence. He then brought the cart home again himself.
