    owned Curra. It used to be held in the corcass twice a year-on the first of May and on the twelfth of September Races used to start at ten 'o clock in the morning and finish at five or six 'o clock in the evening. All the other landlords and gentle-men used to be present there. There used to be horse-racing at Mr's. O Briens in Ballyala. It used to be held there once a month and it used last one day. All the gentlemen used be there and anyone else that had a horse.
