    priest killed him and he sent the body to Ballyalla lake and the head to Grinagh lake. So the lake was called Lough Cloigeann which means the lake of the head.

  2. Long Potatoes are washed clean and boiled in a pot. When they are cooked the water is taken from them. The skin is peeled off them and they are mashed finely and kneaded with flour to make a stiff dough. It is rolled into cakes about an inch thick and baked in a flowry griddle until it turns nicely brown. It is used a present. Some people when they bake bread in an oven they put a cross on it so that the crust will not lift off when you cut it.
