  1. My father prepares the ground in the following way. In the month of January lime is put out on the ground and left there for about six weeks to soak through the earth. Then it is left there for some weeks to dry. Then it is harrowed and after a while it is ploughed secondly and harrowed again. Next the drills are opened and then the real work begins.
    It starts the putting out of farmyard manure or artificial which is spread out on the furrow. The housewife cuts the sciollans and they are then spread
