  1. There was a crock of gold hidden in Bran's fort. Four men came one night to look for it and they brought a bottle of holy water with them and four guns. When they reached the fort they made down a fire. Then they started digging the ground. After a while they struck a griddle and a breeze came and blew the fire up in the air and the shots went off the guns and the men got frightened and went off home. The names of the people are Pattsy [?] Clancy, red Browne, Jim Blanoy [?] and Pat Morgan.
