  1. On one occasion a man in Kilmurry McMahon set a trap for rabbits. One evening, as he went to see if there was any rabbit in it he saw a badger there. The animal never stirred while the man released it. He tied a cord to one of its feet and set the trap again.
As he was going home he bought meat and put it in his pocket. He was just nearing home when he found his pocket empty. In his surprise he let the badger fall to the ground and looked in his pocket to find the meat gone. When he bent down to take up the badger he found he was gone. The man then knew that the badger had fooled him and that he had waited for a chance to eat the meat, but he never got a chance to catch him after that.
