  1. The ancient name of the large mountain lying to the South of Beacan's church is Sliabh Grott now called Ben Cura (probably a corruption of the former)
    From the Leabhar Break it appears that Gill Beacain and Cluain Ard Mobhecog were one and the same. Keating mentions the former place as lying in the territories of Musgraidhe Chuirc.
    In this territory was comprised that portion of Clanwilliam barony east of Tipperary town in which St. Becan's church is situated.
