  1. There is a fort at the left hand side of the road as you go into Bansha. It is in the townland of Ballyverane and in one of Pat Grogan's fields. It is covered with tress and surrounded by white thorn bushes.
    There were never any lights seen there and no noise was ever heard there. It is said to be the residence of fairies.
    One night as Jim Keating of Rossadrehid was coming from Bansha he saw near this fort a heap of silver in front of him. He had a dog with him and on twining round to see if the dog was still there he saw him crouching at his feet.
