- There lived not far from here about 60 years ago a great ster dancer named Ger O'Mahoney. He was equally goof at the Reel, Jig, and Hornpipe. It is said he was never taught dancing by any teacher but picked it up in his travels through the Munster counties. He challenged many men from the counties of Limerick and Cork but his principal rival was a Cork dancer named Teigh O'Leary. They met on many occasions but O'Mahoney was nearly always the victor.
