  1. The last owner of the brick works was Mrs. Cleary who lived in the Birr Road.
A large number of men were employed to dig the clay and barrow it to the place where it was mixed in a large hole in the end of the field. The clay was wet and mixed with shovels. When it was mixed it was made into timber shapes the size of bricks. They were then placed in rows to dry on the brick ridge, a kiln was then made of the bricks, fires were put in the kiln and the bricks dried hard ready for use.
