  1. In Lissenhall a place not far from Nenagh the dogs gave chase to a particular hare which surprised the hunters very much.
No Matter how often the hare ran breathless before its pursuers it found safe retreat in an unknown place. The huntsmen proceeded to trace the place where the hare found his escape and having set watch for a long time they saw the hare entering what seemed a ruined house.
In order to satisfy their curiosity they peeped through an opening and saw an old woman before a turf fire. As they saw no hare they came to the conclusion that the hare turned into an old woman.
