  1. Townlands
    Behy is in the north-east of the parish of Ard Carn in the Barony of Boyle. There are eight families in it, and twenty nine people. The Griffins, Nolans, Bushells, Leydons and MacDermotts live in slated houses and the Shanleys, Bolands, Bolands and Cartys live in comfortable three roomed thatched houses.
    About a hundred years ago there were thirty houses in the district. Eighteen of those were on the Togher which ran from Leydon's Gate across the Commons to
