  1. On St Stephen's day boys and young men formerly hunted the wren killed one and dressed her in greeen to parade from house to house with her. Now they parade in masks and coloured clothes and play music before they collect money which is divided when night time comes. Rhyme
    The wren the wren the king of all birds
    St Stephen's Day she was caught in the firs
    Although she is small her family is great
    Rise up good woman and give us a treat.
    Easter Saturday
    Eggs are associated with Easter and on Good Friday and Easter Saturday poor children from town & country travel the country side from house to house and collect eggs. These are sold if enough is collected and if not they are used at home.
