    When Pikes were forged mid Ulster Hill
    Twas vain they say to seek a better hand than Sean O Boyle.
    The blacksmith of Beleek.

    From morn till night, The flaming forge,
    Heard but that hammer fall,
    Which smote the steel and shaped the pikes,
    To wait the rebels call.
    III
    He saw his country bleeding then,
    A victim unto death,
    He would not live as Saxon Slave,
    Nor crave with cowards breath
