  1. Under a certain tree many people used to collect and have some fun and amusement. This was called the Maypole. Once when a crowd was collected and among them an old piper a preist came up. When the people saw him coming they fled, leaving the piper to "face the music". The priest asked him if he knew the "Hail Mary" but the piper replied "Ah! I forgot but if you whistle a few bars of it I'll play it
