  1. As I lie down this night to sleep.
I give my soul to God to keep.
If any evil happen me Ó blessed Mary waken men.
This prayer should be said going to bed at night.
There are four corners on my bed.
There are four angles round my head
One at head and one at feet.
And two to keep my soul a sleep.
This should be going to bed,
    Jesus meek and Jesus mild,
    Pity me a little child.
Take me by the heart and bless it.
So that nothing evil may porsess it.
This prayer should be said during the day.
