  1. There are plenty of prayers known locally which were never printed. These are some of them.
"There are four corners on this bed,
    There are four angles overhead,
St Matt, St Mark, St Luke, St John,
God bless this bed that I lay on.
And If I die before I wake,
I pray to the Lord Jesus my soul to take."

    "Infant Jesus meek and mild,
Look on me a little child,
    Pity mine and pity me,
Suffer me to come to thee.
Heart of Jesus I adore thee,
Heart of Mary I implore thee,
Heart of Joseph pure and just,
In these three hearts I place my thrust."
"O most merciful Jesus have mercy on me,
My soul and my body I resign unto thee,
Five bleeding wounds that were nailed to a tree,
O most merciful Jesus have mercy on me."
