  1. My home is situated in the townland of Ballyfallon, which is in the parish of Athboy, and in the barony of Lune. There are about eight families in the townland and approsimately forty people. There is no family name very common. The types of houses in this district are mostly cottages, and none of the houses are thatched. The townland got its name from a family who lived in it in former times named Fallons. There are only about two old people in it. They are Mrs Fitzgerald and Mrs Waldron, Balllyfallon, and they cannot tell stories in Irish or English.
    There were about the same number of houses in this district in former times as there are at present. None of them are in ruins. In former times there were
