    (and fingers) Around the print of the knees a strange sort of grass grows on the bare flag without any earth whatever.

  2. This well is said to have been blessed by St Patrick. There is only a sort of swamp or small pool to mark it at present.
    "It is believed that the water cures "The Rose" [?] and people send from America for the blessed water even to the present day. "Everyone knows that doctor's can do nothing for 'The Rose'. "
    The 'well' is in a field owned by Mae Donnell of Smear.
