  1. The Midnight Card Player
    There was a man who lived in Aughacillmore about eighty years ago: he was very fond of card playing and it used to be very late when he would come home.
    This night he was coming home, and it was about twelve o'clock. He had to cross a ditch, and when he stepped over it he saw a man sitting at a table with a lamp lit and he having a deck of cards. The man asked him to have a game with him and he sat down and began to play.
    He won every game for a while
