  1. The Twelve Hags
    There was a widow one time and she only one son; the lad took sick and died and the poor mother was heart broken.
    One night she was alone in the house and she spinning when there came a knock to the door. She opened the door and what walked in but a hag with a horn growing out of her head and an eye in the horn: she walked up to the fire and sat down, and the woman was terrified.
