  1. My Home District
My home district is in the town of Ballyjamesduff in the town of Castlerahan and the barony of Castlerahan. There are about 100 families in Ballyjamesduff the approximate number of people is about 550.
The type of houses are slated. In the time of the Yeomen a man called James Duff, got this district and since then it was called Ballyjamesduff. Many people emigrated to America Canada and elsewhere There is a song about this town entitled:
    Come Back Paddy Reilly
The Garden of Eden has vanished they say
But I know the lie of it is still
Just twin to your left at Bridge of Tinea
And stop when half way to Cootehill
'Tis there you wull find it
I know shure enough, when fortune has come to my call
Oh! the grass the grass it grows green around Ballyjamesduff
And the blue sky is over it all.
And tones that are tender and tones that are gruff
    Come whispering over the sea
