  1. A very sad accident occurred here last August. A young boy named Sean Mac Gowan was drowned while bathing in the River Erne. His cousin- Sean Brady- accompanied him to the River but he did not bathe. There was a great flood in the River that day. It was very deep and there was a swift current and not many went to bathe.
    Sean jumped from the side of the boat into the river.
    After a while his cousin asked him how he was getting on but he got no answer. He asked again but still there was no answer. So he came out from behind a bush where he had been reading and just caught a glimpse of Sean's hand waving above the water.
