  1. I live in the village of Miltown, parish of Drumlane and barony of Lower Loughtee. There are eighteen families living in it and the population is about 136. The family names which are most common are O Reilly and Fitzpatrick.
    All the people are Roman Catholics. There are two old people in the village- Mr. and Mrs. O Reilly. They cannot speak Irish but they can tell plenty of English stories.
    Some people went to America in former days.
    The houses are all slated with the exception of four. There are no ruins of old houses. There is a Post Office, a school, a church, a creamery and a forge in the village.
