    There are four corners on my bed;
    There are four angels overspread,
    Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
    God bless the bed that I lie on:
    Here I lay myself down to sleep
    Waken now or waken never
    Its to God I give my soul to keep for ever
    Lord by the branch, lady by the flower
    Lord Jesus Christ be with me at my dying hour
    Lord Jesus Christ be with me at my confession chair
    Lord Jesus Christ guard me within and guard me without
    As I am going through yon holy land,
    I met the Blessed Virgin standing by,
    Seven mass books in her hand,
    Seven Priests singing,
    Seven bells ringing,
    O Lamb of God" shut the gates of hell,
    And open the gates of Heaven,
    And let those poor sinners in,
    Who say their prayers three times by night and three times by day,
    That the gates of hell shall never prevail against them,
