  1. There are four corners on my bed,
There are four angels at my head
St. Matthew, Mark, and Luke and John,
God bless the bed that I lie on,
As I lie on my right side,
I pray to God to be my guide,
    If any evils trouble me,
I pray to God to waken me,
    Waken now, waken never,
I give my soul to God for ever.
I say this prayer when I go to bed at night. An old nurse taught it to me long ago.
